Entwood Bonsai is Maine''s largest and oldest bonsai nursery. We began offering bonsai trees for sale in 1995 as a result of a facinating hobby which had grown out of hand. We offer an ever changing selection of bonsai as we search for new (ancient) and exotic varieties including tropical, flowering and fruit bearing species as well as traditional Japanese varieties.
For the bonsai enthusiast we offer an ever changing variety of ''pre-bonsai'' plants and an assortment of imported bonsai pots, tools and soil mixtures.
At Entwood Bonsai we conduct hands-on workshops where participants learn the principles and design theory of the art of bonsai and have an opportunity to create their own bonsai from the pre-bonsai selections available.
First time bonsai owners may want to read our articles entitled ''Essential Tips for Bonsai Selection''. This will guide you in choosing the right plant for your growing environment. Once you have chosen the perfect tree, read ''The Basics of Bonsai Part 1'' and ''The Basics of Bonsai Part 2''. These articles outline the general care, placement and environmental needs of the more common varieties of trees used in bonsai.
